We also recommend a visit to Slieker Film, the cinema housed in the Fries Museum. The special programming guarantees a fun night out. See the schedule here.
By the way, Slieker Film is named after George Christiaan Slieker. He was the first Dutchman to screen a film, in 1896, at a fair on the Wilhelminaplein in his cinema tent ‘Grand Théatre Edison’, after which he took his travelling cinema across the country. He has entered the record books as the first Dutch cinema entrepreneur.
