Sewing masterclass
This workshop will depart from traditional Frisian fashion from the archive of the Fries Museum in order to create a new tridimensional work. First, a historical piece will be proposed to the group and will serve as the starting point for a collective work. Through sketches and samples, this historical piece will be deconstructed it into its individual components. This will allow the group to see how the piece was made and the techniques that were used. Next, we will reconstruct the piece in a new way, using pattern and costume making techniques. This is where the group's creativity and individual perspectives will come into play. We will encourage participants to experiment collectively with different materials, colors, and textures to create a tridimensional work that is unique. Throughout the workshop, we will emphasize the importance of collaboration and working together as a group. Once the tridimensional work is complete, we will reflect on the process and the final piece.
Led by artists Mercedes Azpilicueta and Darsha Golova.
