our loans policy

loan procedure

In order to determine whether a loan is possible, we look at the availability of the work and its condition. In addition, it is important to see if and how we can transport the work. For this reason, it is necessary to apply for both short-term and long-term loans at least three months in advance. Loans are granted subject to certain conditions. A loan request addressed to the director, Kris Callens, must consist of: a well-founded reason for the loan, a list with a maximum of 10 objects and a facility report. If no facility report exists, you can use this model.

new provincial depot

The Museum of Friesland usually lends as many objects as possible to other institutions in the Netherlands and abroad in order to increase the visibility of the provincial collection. Every year, 300 to 400 objects are loaned. The re-housing of the collection in the new provincial depot unfortunately makes it necessary to declare a temporary halt to loans. The new depot is now in use, but not yet open to visitors.
